Radon, a class 1 carcinogen, was detected in some units of an apartment in Hanam City, Gyeonggi Province.
According to Hanam City on the 17th, residents of Apartment A, which recently began moving in, filed a complaint to the city demanding countermeasures after radon levels exceeding the standard were detected in an in-unit radon test conducted by the residents themselves.
The city requested the Gyeonggi Institute of Environmental Research to re-measure the exact radon concentration, and released the measurement results on its website on the 16th.
