What is Health-Friendly Housing?

It refers to housing that has secured a certain level of indoor air quality and ventilation performance to provide residents with a healthy and pleasant indoor environment. This is achieved by using building materials that emit fewer pollutants and implementing proper ventilation to improve sick building syndrome issues. It must satisfy all mandatory standards and meet two or more items among the recommended standards. This applies to housing construction projects of 500 units or more, or remodeling projects of 500 units or more. According to the Housing Act, housing built by a housing constructor that involves the new construction or remodeling of 500 units or more must be built as health-friendly housing. The relevant law is the "Construction Standards for Health-Friendly Housing" (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Notice No. 2020-368).
